A trio of thanks was the order of the day at a recent meeting of the Group.
A gift presentation was made by the Group’s leader Debbie Williams to Lucy Dempsey, who organised a fantastic black tie ball at Prenton Golf Club, which raised £1,430 in memory of her dad, Chris “Tiddy” Dempsey.
Next for congratulations was former policeman and rugby player Phil Dobbing, recently diagnosed with MND, his son, Andrew and friend Shaun Gallagher, who all took part in a mammoth 24 hour ERG challenge at EmpoweredFit Gym at Arrowe Park.
A rugby match was also organised at Birkenhead Park FC Rugby Club by Shaun and the two sporting events raised more than £13,000.
Last, but not least, was a floral presentation to Kate Williams, who led the Group’s complex planning for the 100 plus walkers who took part in the Wirral Coastal Walk-on June 7 and which raised more than £15,000.
